BENEFIT EVENT
Established in 1995, the Fondation Derouin/Jardins du Précambrien is a non-profit organization whose principal mission is to develop, preserve and enhance an extensive site, called Les Jardins du Précambrien, by producing and disseminating an annual artistic and site development program.
More specifically, this mission is fulfilled by

• holding theme-based international symposiums of site-specific art with particular focus on socially integrated art and relations with the public

• welcoming visual artists from throughout the Americas in order to promote North-South dialogue and artistic exchanges

• preserving and enhancing the site so as to make SITE-SPECIFIC ART accessible to a wide audience

• acting as an engine for economic and tourist development, and for artistic outreach
• developing our educational program and cultural activities

A substantial program made up of visual artists and guests who are experienced practitioners of poetry, children’s literature, theatre and literature, as well as performances, concerts, exhibitions and talks, is scheduled for each symposium. The Fondation thus cultivates a multidisciplinary approach in which the visual arts interrelate with other disciplines such as music and poetry to offer visitors an all-encompassing experience.

A full range of reception facilities has been set up to provide visitors with a quality experience in an environment tailored to their needs. Every year, over 15,000 visitors come and discover the works created by the guest artists, and attend the special events planned in connection with the symposiums along the four kilometres of trails that have been laid out.

The Jardins du Précambrien site represents a socially innovative space for creating, where ecology and sustainability have been the guiding principles since the very beginnings.
