2013 BENEFIT EVENT

The Val-David International Symposium of Site-Specific Art, focusing on the theme PLACES/SPACES, will be open to the public at the Jardins du Précambrien from July 6 to October 20, 2013. Along three-plus kilometres of art trails right in the heart of nature, you’ll discover works by artists from throughout the Americas, in a unique environment rich in sound, poetry and emotion. Come for a walk in the woods... discover works of art... meet artists, poets, writers, musicians... join in art workshops and multidisciplinary activities. Guided tours are also offered.

Curator Chloë Charce is the organizer of this year’s symposium, under the artistic direction of René Derouin, which will showcase eight new artists: Collectif Zoné Vert (Québec), Guillaume La Brie (Québec), Wes Johnston (Nova Scotia), Sherry Hay (United States), Humberto Díaz (Cuba), Mónica Bengoa (Chile), composer Jean-Francois Blouin and poet José Acquelin. Serge Bouchard is the guest of honour.

Four other guests will contribute to the program: poet Robert Lalonde, actor Alexis Martin, writer Yolande Villemaire and children’s author Gilles Tibo.

Also on display are works by artists featured in 2012:
